Wild about Salmon and Beet Recipe by Roger!

Here is a step by step guide to making a delicious, nutritious, and healthy primal dinner!

What you need:
* Extra Virgin Olive Oil
* Kosher or Sea Salt
* 2 Large Beets
* Lemon for juice
* Cilantro
* Parsley
* 8 ounces of Salmon (per person), Skin Remains On Until Fish is 80% cooked, then removed and discarded.
* Cast Iron Skillet

What The World Eats



Taken from the book, Hungry Planet - What The World Eats, by Faith D'Aluisio, Time Magazine compiled a two part magazine spread featuring the weekly groceries of families around the world. While some families are clearly eating healthier than others, you can see how American toxic products, such as coca-cola and processed foods have infiltrated global households. Minus those products, you can see how communities around the world eat a diet based largely around plants and animal proteins. This blog originated after posting a picture on facebook, of our refrigerator filled with our weekly grocery shopping. The picture received numerous mixed comments from shocked to supportive.

When you go into the supermarket, if you shop around the edges you are generally safe, says Michael Pollan, author of The Omnivore's Dilemma and In Defense of Food, among other bestsellers. When you enter any supermarket, you are generally confronted by the produce section; the back wall is for fish, poultry, and meat; and the far wall contains egg and dairy products. The middle isles are scientific modifications of corn, wheat, and soy. If you can go beyond that and get your products from a farm, grass fed beef and the like, you can avoid the "agriculture-industrial complex." It is better for the health of the Earth, the health of local communities, and the health of YOUR OWN BODIES.

I take this opportunity to challenge you to avoid processed foods for ONE week. Go primal as Mark Sisson challenges people in his book, as well as on his blog, Mark's Daily Apple.
